Public Hearing – Fiscal Year 2021 Town Manager’s Proposed Budget

SUMMARY and RECOMMENDATIONS:

Attached is a copy of the ad on a Public Hearing to be held on May 12, 2020 to receive comments pertaining to the Fiscal Year 2021 Town Manager’s proposed budget. Given the current extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 emergency, the Council plans to adopt an Interim Emergency Appropriation for the first quarter (1Q) of FY21. The total Town 1Q appropriation is proposed at $5.0 million. The budget for the balance of FY21 (October 2020 through June 2021) will be revisited and approved prior to October 1, 2020 (beginning of second quarter).

The budget is prepared for informative and fiscal planning purposes only. No money shall be paid out or become available to be paid out until the Town Council adopts the Fiscal Year 2021 budget and appropriates the contemplated expenditures to be spent.
