BACKGROUND:
This item was previously discussed at the March 24, 2020 Town Council Work Session. At that meeting, the Town Council adopted an ordinance, to be brought back at the next meeting, eliminating the Town's Meals Tax for the month's of April and May 2020, after which the Meals Tax will return to its prior rate of 5%.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Approximately an $80,000 impact to the General Fund.

MOTION(S):
I move that the Purcellville Town Council adopt Ordinance 20-03-02 suspending the collection of Meals Tax during the months of April and May, 2020.
