BACKGROUND:
POLCO can allow the Town to engage the community with questions that are before Council, major issues such as the Zoning Ordinance rewrite, and other key policy discussions. POLCO’s users’ registration is matched to a set of address points in a voter registration file that allows us to distinguish between “in town” and “out of town” residents. This allows the Town Council and staff to determine if there is a difference between perspectives between town residents and the surrounding community on a particular issue. The Town was able to secure pricing at the same rate as our previous contract with the vendor.

ISSUES:
POLCO was used once in the past year to poll the citizens on the American Rescue Plan Act Local Community Priorities, and the town received 175 responses to that survey.

BUDGET IMPACT:
The cost to renew the agreement is $4,995 for one year.

MOTION(S):
I move that the Town Council authorize the Town Manager to execute the agreement with POLCO in the amount of $4,995.
OR
I move that the Town not renew the agreement with POLCO for the upcoming year.
