SUMMARY and RECOMMENDATIONS:
The purpose of the closed meeting is to receive legal advice and discuss negotiating strategy relative to a franchise agreement for broadband services in the Town of Purcellville. 

MOTION(S):

MOTION TO CONVENE A CLOSED MEETING:

I move that Town Council convene in a closed meeting pursuant to its authority under Va. Code Sections 2.2-3711.A.8. and 2.2-3711(A)(29), in order to receive legal advice and discuss negotiating strategy relative to a franchise agreement for broadband services in the Town of Purcellville. The following are requested to attend the closed meeting:

  • All Town Council members
  • David Mekarski, Town Manager
  • Sally Hankins, Town Attorney
  • Matt Ames, Counsel

 

MOTION TO CERTIFY THE CLOSED MEETING:

In accordance with Section §2.2-3712 of the Code of Virginia, I move that Town Council certify to the best of each member’s knowledge, (i) only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements under Virginia Freedom of Information Act; and (ii) only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the closed meeting was convened were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the public body.
